EASTER (PESSACH) (Exodus 12:11)

EASTER, as there is a lot of misrepresentation inside and outside the churches of what God established as Easter, I would like to clarify the matter biblically.

The word Easter is originally from the Hebrew PESSACH and means PASSAGE.

The celebration of Easter was instituted by God in a perpetual way in the book of Exodus, chapter 12.

Exodus 12:14 This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD; throughout your generations, as a statute forever, you shall keep it as a feast.

On Easter Day, God's liberating power from slavery and death is celebrated.

In Egypt, on the day of the institution of Easter, the people of Israel were instructed to kill a perfect one-year-old lamb and place its blood on the doorposts and on the lintel of their homes, as God would pass and kill all the firstborn in Egypt, both men and animals.

Exodus 12:7 Then they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses in which they eat it.

Exodus 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the LORD .

Exodus 12:13 The blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.

That night, when God passed and found the blood of the lamb placed on the doorposts, He would PASS UP and there would be no destruction.

This was the tenth plague in Egypt and it happened about 1500 years BC and in fact it was already a GREAT PROPHECY about our savior and redeemer Jesus Christ, because JESUS IS THE LAMB OF GOD who takes away the sin of the world.

John 1:29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!.

Through the blood of Jesus we have been freed from the bondage of sin and death has no authority over us anymore.

1 Corinthians 15:54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory.

Hebrews 2:14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil.

We were reconciled to God by the sacrifice of the lamb of God, which is Jesus Christ, because his blood, which was released over our lives, has the same power that was over Egypt about 3500 years ago, that is, it frees us from suffering, slavery and death.

Let go of the demonic lie of the rabbit and Easter eggs and celebrate our true Easter which is Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 5:7 Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

On Easter Sunday celebrate the Lord with all your family, with much joy and adoration, not forgetting that Jesus died on the cross for everyone, but not everyone received him, that is, the blood of Jesus shed is not yet part of many lives,  DON'T BE ONE OF THEM.

The Lord bless you and keep you.
