What Must I Do To Be Saved? (Acts 16:30-31)

Acts 16:30 He then brought them out and asked, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 They replied, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved — you and your household.

Acts 16:30 He then brought them out and asked, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? That was the question asked by a jailer of Paul and Silas that seems to be so simple-minded, but it isn't.

The answer given by Paul and Silas to the jailer was: Acts 16:31 They replied, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved — you and your household.

Paul and Silas' answer may seem too obvious to you, but it is not.

Many Christians have been deluded about salvation, for not understanding the real meaning of the text: BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS (Acts 16:31).

Believe means FOLLOW AND BELIEVE AND NOT FOLLOW THE BELIEF means BEING INFIDEL.

After all WHAT IS TO BE A CHRISTIAN? Obviously it means following Christ and acting on his teachings.

As in a profession, when a person says: I am an accountant, I am an engineer, I am a dentist, if the person does not practice the profession, he will only have the title and will be able to hear: so-and-so is an engineer, but he does not practice the profession.

Many Christians are going through situations like these, claiming to be Christians, but not exercising their belief and affirmation.

In another part of the word of God, a young man asked Jesus: Matthew 19:16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?

Jesus' answer was clear: Matthew 19:Mateus 19:17 ... If you want to enter life, keep the commandments. 18 Which ones? he inquired. Jesus replied, You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.

And many other commands of Jesus, such as:

. Love God above all things.
. Love your enemies and pray for those who mistreat you.
. Do not corrupt.
. Don't cheat.
. Don't defraud.
. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.
. Be fair.
. Forgive those who offend you.
. Worship God.
. And many others...

DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A TRUE CHRISTIAN? ARE YOU BEING FAITHFUL TO GOD AND HIS WORD?

Today it is very common for us to hear the following sentences: I HAVE NOT BEEN A GOOD CHRISTIAN; I AM NOT A PRACTICING CHRISTIAN.

These phrases are said as naturally as possible, as if it were something acceptable and demonstrate the true faith of the people and the spiritual stage they are in, and will surely lead them to hell and not to the salvation promised by Jesus, if they do not change your attitudes.

What are you waiting for? Now you know how to be saved, so CONQUER for yourself and for your household WITH YOUR ATTITUDES OF FAITH AND FAITHFULNESS, according to Acts 16:31.

The Lord bless you and keep you.
