God in his infinite mercy has left us wonderful promises, some that have already been fulfilled, others that are yet to be fulfilled and others that are being fulfilled and are available to all who wish.
One of these powerful promises and one of the most important is the promise to pour out of the Holy Spirit on us.
Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. 29 Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.
Promised blessing, without distinction: Young, old, children, parents, servants, bosses, that is, anyone can enjoy this wonderful blessing, which in the past, before the coming of Jesus, was only given to certain kings, prophets and priests.
Jesus made this possible, and through him, anyone who accepts him as their lord and savior has that privilege.
Luke 3:16 John answered them all, saying, I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
2 Corinthians 6:16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jesus, before being crucified, promised:
John 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
The promises of God and Jesus are clear and evident that receiving the Holy Spirit is necessary for all Christians , because it is He who empowers us and reminds us of all that we must know.
John 14:25 These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you..
But in order to be temples of the Holy Spirit we must observe some fundamental conditions taught by Jesus:
John 14:23 Jesus answered him, If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him .
1 John 3:24 Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us .
Romans 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness..
Therefore, we will only receive the Holy Spirit of God, if we are faithful to Him. If we love him, if we recognize Jesus as the son of God, and accept him as our lord and savior.
God will never dwell in a dirty temple, because of its holiness, but the temple must be clean, without sin, for that temple to be sanctified by the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Do not be deceived by the levity, lies and superficialities taught by the churches today, because as we can see in Romans 8:9 ... Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
The Lord bless you and keep you.
