The Light of the World (John 8:12)

JESUS IS THE LIGHT THAT SHINES IN THE DARKNESS. Powerful statement that symbolically shows what Jesus did for the world.

The world was in darkness and the wonderful light of Jesus illuminated it, consumed the darkness and provided us with salvation and the fullness of God.

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. 2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

Without Jesus there is no light, because the darkness of sin or the sinful tendency will continue to act and lead to a distance from the light that illuminates the world, which is Jesus.

Those who are far from Jesus follow aimlessly, blinded by the darkness that surrounds them, unable to find the way to liberation.

Amos 5:18 Woe to you who long for the day of the Lord! Why do you long for the day of the Lord? That day will be darkness, not light.

Many are still choosing sin over sanctification, they are choosing darkness over light, still carrying out the Word of God, which says:

John 1:10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.

Jesus came into the world so that there might be light and that through him there was the elimination of all the yoke of darkness and therefore the curses and consequences of sin were eliminated and grace and glory of God were manifested to man.

John 12:46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

When the world was created, the first thing that God did was create light and separate it from darkness, so that light would shine over all creation and that the glory of God would be manifested, seen, and shared with man.

Genesis 1:2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

But, man despised God when he sinned and the LIGHT OF GOD'S GLORY WENT OUT for sinners, for MAN PREFERRED THE DARKNESS TO THE LIGHT.

Genesis 3:23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

Walk no longer in darkness, but live the TRUE LIGHT THAT IS JESUS, THE SON OF GOD and have life, because THOSE WHO LIVE WITHOUT JESUS, in fact, ARE DEAD AND DON'T KNOW OR DON'T SEE, because they are blind in the darkness.

John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

The Lord bless you and keep you.
