The voice of the people is NOT the voice of God.

Perhaps you have observed the sentence above and thought: "The pastor got the popular saying wrong...".

No, I didn't get the popular saying wrong, because popular sayings don't always tell the truth.

So, I prefer to speak of what it is, and always will be, the truth, which is the Word of God.

Countless times God, as well as Jesus warned us about the infallible power of his Word, because the WORD OF GOD IS ETERNAL AND WILL NEVER FAIL TO BE FULFILLED.

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Perhaps by now you have thought or said, as most Christians would: I KNOW IT OR I BELIEVE IT.

And if most Christians believe that the Word of God is infallible, then:

• Why do Christians so despise the Word of God, failing to fulfill it?

• Why do Christians read the Bible so little?

• Why do Christians pray little and completely despise prayer meetings?

• Why do Christians seek material blessings first and not care about spiritual blessings?

• Why don't Christians receive the spiritual gifts promised by God in His Word?

• Why don't Christians show the signs that Jesus said would accompany those who believe?

All these questions have a few likely answers: LACK OF FAITH, FALSE CONVERSION, LACK OF LOVE FOR GOD, LACK OF UNDERSTANDING.

We could talk a lot more about this devastating situation and what God's desire is, but today I prefer to simply show the WORD OF GOD:

Hosea 4:6 my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.

Hosea 6:6 For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.

Ephesians 6:17 ...and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that -and shudder.

Psalms 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray continually.

Mark 14:38 Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

1 Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Mark 16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools .

The Word of God governs the world, for better or for worse, depending exclusively on the attitudes of each person.

FOLLOW THE WORD OF GOD AND BE GOVERNED BY IT, FOR GOOD.
