MESSAGES

To the Overcomer (Revelation 21:7)

Perhaps you have already read the book of Revelation and observed the wonderful revelations of Jesus given to the Apostle John on the island of Patmos.

In addition to the revelations of what has already happened, what is happening and what will happen soon, the book of Revelation shows some things that I would like to highlight here:

1 - It shows Jesus in his original condition, that is, in the condition that He always was since the creation of the world:

Revelation 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

2 - It shows Jesus as the only one who has the authority to pour out the designs of God over all the earth and His is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll:

Revelation 5:5 Then one of the elders said to me, Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.

3 - It shows Jesus with authority to honor the attitudes of faith of God's people and save those who are faithful to them:

Revelation 7:14 I answered, Sir, you know. And he said, These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

4 - It shows Jesus as the judge of all humanity, with power to save or condemn every life:

Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

5 - It shows Jesus making it clear: THAT WE HAVE TO FIGHT TO ACHIEVE SALVATION.

Jesus wrote at least eight times in the book of Revelation that only the overcomer would gain God's promises and salvation:

• Revelation 2:7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

• Revelation 2:11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death.

• Revelation 2:17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.

• Revelation 2:26 To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations.

• Revelation 3:5 He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.

• Revelation 3:12 Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name.

• Revelation 3:21 To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.

• Revelation 21:6 He said to me: It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.

HE WHO IS AN OVERCOMER, IS AN OVERCOMER BECAUSE HE OVERCOMES SOMETHING, OVERCOMES A DISPUTE OR OVERCOMES A WAR.

So, do not forget that salvation is not automatic, it is not because one day we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior that we are saved, quite the contrary, WE HAVE TO FIGHT EVERY DAY, to overcome sin, to overcome the desires of the flesh, to honor God and declare with our attitudes that our life belongs to Jesus.

Revelation 21:6 He said to me: It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.

The Lord bless you and keep you.
