MESSAGES

I Believe! (Genesis 1:1)

• I believe that the beginning of everything was God.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Isaiah 42:5 This is what God the Lord says — the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it.

• I believe that God has authority over everything and everyone, whose thoughts and works of his hands cannot be stopped:

Job 42:2 I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

Isaiah 43:13 Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?

• I believe that Jesus, the son of God, was with God from the very first moments of creation:

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.

1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched — this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

Revelation 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

• I believe that Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth, given to him by God and only He has the power to save:

Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Revelation 1:18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

Acts of the Apostles 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

• I believe that Jesus Christ is alive and dwells in us, through the Holy Spirit:

Matthew 28:20 ... And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

John 14:18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?

• I believe that Jesus died on the cross to atone for our sins, freeing us from the curse of death, giving us the right to be called children of God:

1 Corinthians 15:51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed — 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood — to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his  orbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished.

• I believe that Jesus will return for us and that God will make all things new:

Revelation 21:1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” 5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

AND DO YOU BELIEVE?

The Lord bless you and keep you.
