MESSAGES

Empowered by the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49)

The manifestation of the Holy Spirit of God in man was announced by God, clearly, in several passages of the Bible.

About 400 BC, through the prophet Joel:

Joel 2:28 And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.

The angel Gabriel also made clear the manifestation of the Holy Spirit when he announced the birth of our savior Jesus Christ to Mary:

Luke 1:35 The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

Later, after Jesus' death and resurrection, Jesus said to his disciples:

Luke 24:49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.

Then, after about 440 years from the date of Joel's prophecy, on the day of Pentecost, about 120 disciples of Jesus who were gathered in the upper room, were baptized with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other tongues.

Acts of the Apostles 2:1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Those men from that moment on were empowered with the gifts of the Holy Spirit so that they could boldly preach the Word and minister the miracles of God.

That day, about 3,000 lives were converted to the Lord Jesus, through Peter's preaching, preaching full of the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Before Jesus was crucified, He told His disciples that He would ask God and God would give us the Comforter, the Spirit of truth, WHICH THE WORLD CANNOT RECEIVE, BECAUSE THE WORLD DOES NOT KNOW GOD.

And the Spirit of truth would teach us and remind us of all that Jesus said:

John 14:26 But the Conforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

The Holy Spirit of God in us is fundamental for us to receive the revelations of God, because it is through him that we discern the things that are of God, because, as mentioned above, the Holy Spirit teaches us and reminds us of the Words and promises that Jesus left us.

The promise of the Holy Spirit was given to all of us and consequently to you too, as the prophet Joel said:

Joel 2:28 And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.

And as Peter said:

Acts of the Apostles 2:39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off — for all whom the Lord our God will call.

But, GOD CANNOT DWELL IN A "DIRTY" PLACE THAT IS NOT SANCTIFIED TO HIM, simply because He is Holy.

Therefore, seek God, repent of your sins, so that the Holy Spirit may make you an abode, and teach you and remind you of everything that God has already revealed to you and grant you spiritual gifts.

If you don't live a life of sin and are faithful to God, this promise is already part of your life.

Put on the power of God, live this promise, so that God may be glorified in you, because the Word of God says that we are temples of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.

John 14:23 Jesus replied, Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

The Lord bless you and keep you.
