MESSAGES

Clap Your Hands, All You Nations (Psalm 47:1)

A call to worship, this is the intrinsic cry in Psalm 47.

To worship God with great joy and celebration, this was the intention of the sons of Korah when they wrote this Psalm.

Worshiping God, for everyone who has TRULY given their life to the Lord, is not an obligation, but it is a necessity, because when we worship God, we express our deepest feelings to Him, many times, saying words that we would not be able to say to any other person, no matter how much we loved them.

Worshiping God must be a daily action.

Feeling joy when reading a Psalm like Psalm 47 should be an experience lived by every Christian.

Only those who recognize his greatness, his majesty, his divinity and his works adore God.

The psalmist begins Psalm 47 by asking us to celebrate God with clapping hands and shouting for joy (jubilation).

Psalm 47:1 Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.

In later verses the psalmist says the reasons:

Psalm 47:
2 For the Lord Most High is awesome, the great King over all the earth.
3 He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet.
4 He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved.

True worship of God is actually a spiritual joy, which must come out of the depths of the soul, as if it were something inevitable or uncontrollable, generating words in your mouth, which represent what your heart wants to shout.

Unfortunately, most people who have already said that they gave their lives to Jesus cannot feel that joy while singing praises or during their prayers, and this is something very sad, as it demonstrates spiritual coldness and makes it clear that the person still needs to have a true encounter with God.

For there to be true worship it is necessary that you LOVE GOD and loving God is a process, the more you know and seek Him, the more that feeling will grow and flourish within you.

Remember, what Jesus said:

John 4:23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.

But, you will only be able to worship God in the Spirit and in truth, if you love him above all things, because God knows his intimate, not just his words.

So, worship God in The Spirit and in truth and with all your soul!

The Lord bless you and keep you.
