Our faith has to be enough to declare that Jesus is Lord and the ultimate authority over our lives.
And if Jesus is the ultimate authority over your life, everything that happens to you has a purpose, and that purpose will always be to bless or to teach you something you need to learn.
When the people of Israel were walking through the desert and they were almost at the end of their 40-year journey, God allowed water to run out, and the people's attitude was once again revolting: They began to blaspheme against God and complain to Moses.
Numbers 20:
2 Now there was no water for the community, and the people gathered in opposition to Moses and Aaron.
3 They quarreled with Moses and said, “If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the Lord!
4 Why did you bring the Lord’s community into this wilderness, that we and our livestock should die here?
5 Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to this terrible place? It has no grain or figs, grapevines or pomegranates. And there is no water to drink!”
Once again the people forgot the great promises of God, spoken through Moses, almost 40 years before:
Exodus 6:
6 “Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.
7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.
Despite the daily signs that God showed in the desert, providing solutions and protection for the people, they still thought they would die there and blasphemed against God:
Numbers 20:4 Why did you bring the Lord’s community into this wilderness, that we and our livestock should die here?
Moses then became enraged and prayed to God and God answered:
Numbers 20:8 “Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink.”
It is obvious that God would not let his people perish in the desert, with only 3 years left for them to reach the promised land.
That moment served, once again, to demonstrate the state of faith and perseverance of those people, who even knowing that God had previously punished them for their lack of faith and for their blasphemous words, they practiced the same demonic attitudes again.
God said to Moses: Numbers 20:8 “Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water...
God's promises are always fulfilled, but if you are still not living the promises of blessings, maybe it's because the right time has not yet come for some of them to happen or because you are making a mistake, not having faith or sinning.
You may be wandering around in the desert, learning faith and perseverance.
In your life it is evident that there will be struggles, but God's desire is that you face them with faith and perseverance and when everything seems too difficult or impossible, "speak to the rock" and then God's solution will come and the necessary water it will flow abundantly.
So, if you are now facing a great spiritual struggle, DON'T COMPLAIN OR BLASPHEMATE AGAINST GOD, just prophesy the Word of God over your life and use it so that God's solution is manifested and you are supplied by the power of God, which MAKES STREAMS COME OUT OF THE ROCK AND CREATE RIVERS IN THE DESERT.
Come on, prophesy your blessing now and because God wants to bless you!
The Lord bless you and keep you.
