Always Give God the Best (Genesis 4:1-7)

Our relationship with God must be built through daily attitudes and decisions.

On the day we publicly declared that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, we were actually saying that our life belongs to God and that we would be faithful to Him.

After giving our lives to Jesus, our thoughts, our Words and our attitudes must honor Jesus and be like a living sacrifice to Him, as He taught us.

Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship.

God is more precious than anything we can have and we must demonstrate this through our lives.

GOD IS OUR TREASURE AND IF THAT IS TRUE FOR YOU, WHY NOT TREAT HIM THAT WAY.

Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

But what happens today on a large scale is that people underestimate and do not follow God's clear words, when He says that He will never accept being less important to us than anything.

Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

HE REQUIRES of us, to be recognized as our TREASURE, as our HOPE, as the TOP PRIORITY OF OUR LIVES, as OUR LORD AND SAVIOR.

GOD DOES NOT ACCEPT AND WILL NEVER ACCEPT NOT BEING THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN OUR LIFE.

As I have already said here: Our thoughts, our words, our attitudes must demonstrate that God is more important than anything in our lives.

We cannot despise and treat God's will as unimportant, giving Him the leftovers of our life.

We see many practicing these attitudes: IF I CAN I PRAY, IF I CAN I'LL GO TO CHURCH, IF I CAN I'LL READ THE BIBLE, IF I CAN I WILL TENTH, IF I CAN I DON'T SIN...

People don't miss work, and sometimes they go work even when they are sick, but they do not have the same attitude towards God.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

People leave at dawn, raining and cold to take a child to the hospital, but they don't have the same attitude towards God.

Matthew 10:37 Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

People honor their commitments, not missing or arriving late, but they do not have the same attitude towards God.

People do not steal from other people, but they do not have the same attitude towards God, rather they steal from God in their tithes and offerings.

Malachi 3:8 Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, How are we robbing you? In tithes and offerings.

People try so hard not to hurt and please other people, but they don't have the same attitude towards God.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

God requires the best of us and if we do not give our best, what we offer will not be accepted, just as God rejected Cain's sacrifice, because it was not true, without worship and without praise and it was not his best.

Abel's sacrifice was different, which was readily accepted by God.

Genesis 4:4 And Abel also brought an offering — fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering,

Cain was sad because his offering was not accepted and God rebuked him, saying that he acted badly, that's why his sacrifice was not received and warned him that that attitude was an attitude that could generate much worse things for him, because whoever does not He has God in his heart, he desires the things and values of the world and the values of the world are sin, perdition and death.

Genesis 4:5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. 6 Then the Lord said to Cain, Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.

Soon after, Cain committed a terrible sin, he killed his brother Abel, out of envy, which is one of the most corrosive feelings that human beings can have, a feeling that Cain did not control, as God warned him, generating devastating consequences for him.

WHEN WE GIVE THE BEST FOR GOD, HE REJOICES AND HONORS US WITH HIS POWER AND GRACE.

The Lord bless you and keep you.
