God himself assigned himself several titles or names in the Bible.
These titles actually identify characteristics or qualities of our God.
And as our God is complete in everything, in his "names" we find the fullness of the message that the "name" itself transmits.
We can give as an example: When God calls himself Yahweh Rapha (the God who heals), we are sure that He is the cure, because of His power, and this power guarantees us that what He says happens.
After all, He is El Shadday (The Almighty God).
We list below several of these titles or names given by God himself in the Bible:
YHWH (Yahweh) - Unpronounceable name of God; in the Bible it is translated as LORD or YAHWEH (Exodus 3:14-15).
Abba - Father.
Term normally used during prayers (Mark 14:36).
Adonai - Lord, Master.
God's name used in place of Yahweh when God's own name came to be considered too sacred to pronounce (Exodus 4:10-12).
El Elyon - The Most High God (Genesis 14:18).
El Elohe Israel - The God of Israel (Genesis 33:20).
El Olam - The Eternal God or God of Eternity (Genesis 21:33).
El Roi - The God Who Sees Me (Genesis 16:13).
El Shaddai - The Almighty God (Genesis 17:1).
Elohim - Creator God (Isaiah 17:6-7).
El Gmolah - The God Who Rewards (Jeremiah 51:56).
El Chay - The living God (Psalm 84:2).
Yahweh Yireh - The Lord Will Provide (Genesis 22:14).
Yahweh Mekoddishkem - The Lord Who Sanctifies (Exodus 31:13).
Yahweh Nakah - The Lord Who Smites (Ezekiel 7:9).
Yahweh Nissi - The Lord Is My Banner (Exodus 17:15).
Yahweh Qanna - The Jealous God (Deuteronomy 4:24).
Yahweh Raah - The Lord Is My Shepherd (Psalm 23:1).
Yahweh Rapha - The God Who Heals (Exodus 15:26).
Yahweh Sabaoth - The Lord of Hosts (1 Samuel 1:3).
Yahweh Shalom - The Lord Is Peace (Judges 6:24).
Yahweh Shammah - The Lord Is There (Ezekiel 48:35).
Yahweh Tsidkenu - The Lord Is Our Righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6).
Qadosh - The Holy One of Israel (2 Kings 19:22).
Kyrios - Lord, Owner, Master (Luke 1:46).
Soter - Savior (Luke 1:47).
Theos - God, True God (Luke 1:47).
Yeshua - Jesus, God Is My Salvation (Luke 1:31).
